Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3)
The Blue Line is divided into two parts: Blue Main Line (Line 3) and Blue Branche Line (Line 4). The Delhi Metro Blue Line (Main Line), also known as Line 3, is a metro rail line of the Delhi Metro, a rapid transit system in Delhi, India. It became operational on December 31, 2005, and is operated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3) consists of 50 active stations with a total Length of 56.1 Kilometres, which connects Dwarka sector 21 in the west to Noida Electronic City in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The Blue Line (Line 3) was the longest in the Delhi Metro network until August 6, 2021.
However, with the inauguration of an unfinished section between the Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake stations on the Pink Line, its length expanded to 59 Kilometres, making it the longest Line.

The first section of the Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3) consisted of 22 stations with a length of 22.7 kilometres. It became operational on December 31, 2005. Over time, the Line has been extended, and new stations have been added. As of 2023, The Blue Main Line (Line 3) of the Delhi Metro consists of 61 stations, with 50 active and 11 inactive stations.

Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3) Extension – Phase 4
The current Blue Line (Line 3) of the Delhi Metro consists of 3 Phases: Phase 1 (Dwarka to Indraprastha), Phase 2 (Indraprastha to Dwarka Sector 21), and Phase 3 (Noida City Centre to Noida Electronic City). Eleven more stations of the Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3) phase 4 are proposed or under construction, the expected operational year for these stations is 2025.

Conclusion: The Delhi Metro Blue Line (Line 3) is one of the busiest lines in the Delhi Metro network, connecting Dwarka in the west to Noida in the east. The Line became operational in 2005 and has served its commuters for 17 years as of 2023. The Blue Line connects several vital areas, including Indira Gandhi International Airport. However, with the completion of Phase 4, the Blue Line will improve connectivity to even more areas of the city, with the expected operational year of 2025.
